Update New Zealand 06-06-22
We’ve been actively defending the two chiropractors that were in the newspaper article and we’re starting to reach out to the government demanding some answers to their current role. So today I’m going to share with you all of that information. So good morning, New Zealand chiropractors and allied health professionals. My name is Bharon Hoag… I am the Executive Director of OneChiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, Monday, June 6th, 2022 for your weekly update. So we’re in June already. This year has just insanely gone by fast. And especially in New Zealand, what a year. A lot has happened in the last six months, but I’m very proud of you guys and the way that you’re standing strong and starting to get back into practice and having the resilience that you’re having. The good news is we don’t have any further complaints that we’re aware of.
We’re still not seeing the government coming out after anyone. Letters from the ministry have reduced all of those types of things. We are actively working to defend the two chiropractors that were in that newspaper article. Our legal team has been working on their case. We have set letters back in response to the fine requests and things of that nature. So we’ll keep you updated on how that goes and obviously would covet your prayers. We’re also reaching out as we have shared the last few weeks about the appeals on the different court cases, as well as looking at what’s happening with the other groups and networking with them. Again, our stance at this point is this no longer exists. We’re encouraging you to go about business as usual. You know, don’t make this a topic of conversation.
Don’t be on a street corner, screaming from the rooftops, but we want you to just move forward. We don’t want you to live in fear. We don’t want you to not practice. We want you to just go back to life as usual. At least the newest form of usual, and we will be there to defend you. That’s what we’re doing with the two individuals that do have the fines. But we believe those guys were just selected to make an example out of so far it is not looking like this is just a spread of enforcement. So we want you just to stay connected with us, keep watching these videos, reach out to us if you have any issues or questions, and we’re going to continue to just push forward. Once we get through this little madness, then I’m excited to sit down with you guys and talk about the next steps in New Zealand to prepare for something like this ever happening again. And I’m working very closely with the association. I’m working closely with other groups in the country to make sure that we’re never caught like we were this time. So just know that we don’t exist purely because of this issue. We’re here to make sure we’re defending the rights of practicing chiropractors and allied health throughout the whole country.
