Update South Africa 07-18-22
Good morning, South African chiropractors. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, Monday, July 18th, 2022 for your weekly update. I hope you had a great week last week. Today, I just wanna share with you kind of what we’re starting to see around the world.
Very interesting as we have countries that are starting to talk and Canada, they’re starting to talk about shutdowns again, which makes zero sense because the data’s not there to support it. And we have a lot of data that explains that the virus is not what they thought it was and the vaccine did not do what it claimed it would do. So yeah, it’s just interesting times. In South Africa, we’re not hearing much of that. At our colleges, we’re still working with the legal team working to make sure that the students and the chiropractors that work within institutions maintain that freedom, to serve without having to be VAX.
But more importantly, what I’m starting to see across the profession of chiropractic is, is this apathy. And so I wanna talk with you about that today because I don’t want that to happen in South Africa. And I’m sure it is already to a certain degree just because we’re humans and humans respond the same way, no matter where they’re at in the world, but we have this apathy of feeling like we’re just protecting our own, we’re doing our thing. And if we’re doing okay, we’re okay, but we’re missing the opportunities that exist within the world, especially in the healthcare system when chiropractors stand and speak the truth. Part of the vision of The Chiropractic Defense Council is to give you the confidence to stand up and speak the truth about chiropractic.
Now, let me be clear. I’m not asking you to stand up and say, vaccines are horrible. I’m not asking you to stand up and attack other forms of healthcare. That is not at all. What I’m saying. What I’m saying is to stand up and speak the truth about chiropractic. The world is looking for what we have. They just don’t know we have it. And because our profession is so busy, circling the wagons and shooting inward, and because we have no standard of care really to speak of, the world doesn’t understand us. It depends on the individual chiropractor that they’re talking to, but now is the time for us as a profession to come together and speak our truth.
Our truth is this, as far as I’m concerned that the body is a self-healing self-regulating organism. When it’s given the proper information when the brain and the body and the nervous system are connected and functioning properly, then the body can adapt to the stresses that exist around it. This is why the allopathic world does not work. This is why it’s very limited in its effectiveness. Maybe it can reduce symptoms, but it does not promote health because it does not allow the body to do what it was designed to do. And that’s where chiropractic comes into our mindset, all of the different modalities and the adjustments and the techniques that we provide are all designed to make sure that the brain and the body are communicating effectively.
That’s the message, right? If we could stay away from the buzzwords, I’m not sacrificing the subluxation. I believe that that’s part of that story, but to lead with it creates confusion and it creates animosity within the profession. If we understood what the actual adjustment does to the neurology of the body, that’s where our power’s at, and that’s where we’re gonna gain the most ground when we’re speaking outside of our profession. So it’s time for us to stand up. I need you to stand up and speak the truth about chiropractic.
Don’t be a zealot, be an empowered educator, right? There’s a difference. A zealot is just screaming from the rooftops, not carrying who hears it or what damage it causes. And an empowered educator is taking their message and giving it to a world that is desperately in need of what we have to say. So that’s my challenge for you this week. My friends, I need you right now when things aren’t that bad in South Africa, you’re not being attacked regularly. It is your time to stand up, come together and speak the truth about our profession.
And that is my challenge for you this week. Imagine a world where we are working as a profession, telling our truth and changing the lives of everyone that hears it, man, that’s the reality I wanna live in.
