Update Canada 05-23-22

Legally Speaking, it’s still busy in British Columbia as we’re dealing with the X-ray issue and following up with The Ministry of Health and also want to share with you what’s going on with the schools around the rest of Canada. So good morning, Canadian chiropractors and allied health professionals. My name is Bharon Hoag… I am the Executive Director of OneChiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, Monday, May 23rd, 2022 for your weekly update. So again, most of our effort is in British Columbia. We have followed up with the health Ministry reiterating to them. We know there were some articles and some information and interviews with Bonnie Henry and other individuals within the Ministry stating that they’re working with the colleges to figure out how to communicate who is or isn’t vaccinated. We got a lot of emails from you guys and we’re aware of those communications, but we still have information from the Ministry directly stating that they would not be doing that.

The only thing they plan to do is what they did, which is to release the professions and the percentages by profession. So we are following up with our legal team, and sent a letter again, just reiterating and reminding them of the privacy issues. We don’t believe they’re going to do anything. We think what they’re doing is saving face as they’re communicating that, but again, we’re not taking that for granted and we’re looking at that. Also, getting headlong into the x-ray issue as well. We have transitioned and retained Lee Turner as our lead counsel for that issue. We’re collecting our information and it looks like we’re gonna be having a hearing date in October where we will be going after that particular issue. So we have a couple of months to put everything together and make sure that our arguments are intact.

We are aggressively going after this issue of the x-ray regulation in British Columbia and around the rest of the country.  It appears that we’ve resolved the issue within the schools. Our students should be able to go back to school now without having fear of vaccination. We are working with one particular student and the case that we have there. So all in all, everything seems to be pretty good around the rest of Canada at this point, but we’re keeping our eyes open. We do believe as we go through summer and into the winter, if you recall, I was sharing this with you even at the beginning of the year that we thought it was going to die down around April, May time, and then we’re gonna have a very calm summer and then things are gonna ramp back up as we get into the fall. We still believe that is going to be the case. If you’re paying attention, there are little rumblings about that now. We’re also tracking very closely The World Health Organization resolution, if you haven’t been following that, I talked about that a few weeks ago. The vote is this week. It’s just blowing my mind that we’re even having this conversation. I don’t know why I’m surprised, considering the last couple of years, but this particular issue is, I just don’t know, why any country would sign away their sovereignty and give The World Health Organization the ability to come into their country and shut it down and deem such as pandemics, and so on and so forth. So we have our legal team and our lobbyists that are working aggressively to figure out really what’s going on with this resolution. Where are their teeth really at? We’re going to make sure that, we do our part to protect your rights as well. So following that, as you can tell, I’m not in my normal office. And so I apologize for the lack of quality of this video I’m just using my computer, but I wanted to make sure we continue with our updates.  I’m at an event actually this week that is focusing on chiropractic in the brain. And so I want to leave you with this, and this applies to those of you that may not be chiropractors, as well the significance of our approach to health is so important, especially now that I want you to fall back in love with your trade.

I want you to really focus this week on getting rid of the noise, getting rid of the fear, and doubling down on what you’re doing every day with your patients, making sure that you reconnect with your purpose. You need to reconnect with the passion that brought you to this point and know that we’re resilient, that we’re bound together, and that we’re going to continue to love and serve as a community because it’s what our world deserves. I want you to find peace in that, knowing that you’re a part of something bigger than yourself.  I, for one, am very thankful for you and your trust in our organization and for allowing us to do the work that we’re doing. I don’t want you to lose sight of the bigness of what you’re a part of. We hope you have an incredible remainder of your week. We’ll be back to you next Monday with more information. Just know that we love you. We appreciate you. Don’t ever stop loving and serving, and we’ll talk to you later. God bless you.
