Update United States 05-02-22

Had some interesting conversations this week as we continue to delve into the infrastructure of chiropractic in the United States. So it’s funny the information we’re learning. So today I want to share with you kind of where we’re at and I also want to leave you with a bit of motivation this week. So make sure you watch all the way to the end. So good morning, American chiropractors, we love you. So you’re where it all started. So thank you for being a part of what we’re doing, but my name is Bharon Hoag, I am the Executive Director of OneChiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, Monday, May 2nd, 2022 for your weekly update. So as you can tell from my background I’m obviously not in my home office. It’s been an awesome weekend.

I got to celebrate at Sherman college on Friday night. I was honored to receive The Chiropractic Advocate of the year from them. That was an honor to be in the room with such amazing people and to be recognized for the work that we’re doing. So thank you very much to Sherman and, and all of you that were a part of that process. It was a phenomenal evening. So I got to fellowship with a number of great people and, and friends in that room. And then I was in Atlanta, which is where I’m at right now. And I’ve spent all day yesterday with Centropy, which if you’ve not heard of them, it’s Patrick and Aaron, and man, I’ll tell you what I am riding a cloud more than you could ever imagine.

Most of you know, I absolutely love chiropractic. It is a hundred percent of what I spend my time and energy thinking about and doing so to sit in a room all day and watch chiropractors getting trained on adjusting, learning myself, you guys know I’m a student of chiropractic in every facet. So watching the fundamentals of adjusting techniques and how to, you know, there are three main things that they were doing that were so amazing, which was one, you know, when they were teaching the technique, they had three things. And my number one is how to create longevity in the chiropractor themselves, how to teach them how to adjust in a manner that they protect their bodies to give them years to their service. Secondly, was how to create a better experience for the patient, not too much through to, but really look and make an effortless adjustment so that the patient got up like holy cow, that was like nothing.

And then thirdly had to create the best results. So to watch those three things happen through this event, it was absolutely incredible. And you’re going to be hearing some information from us as I am hook line and sinker bought into these guys and what they’re doing. And we’re going to be supporting them moving forward and making sure that our profession doesn’t forget about the art, right. We’ve done a great job of, of the, the science really good job of that over the last few years and needs to get better, but we’re definitely focused on it. And science is really our friend right now. We’ve, we’ve done a good job of the philosophy, those that are in that camp, you know, we’ve got so much, so many people out there speaking the truth about chiropractic and our roots and our heritage and why we’re separate and distinct and what makes us amazing.

But the art has kind of gone to the wayside and my honest opinion, people, you know, aren’t as focused on their techniques. So to be a part of this, this event, this weekend has been absolutely incredible. And it’s relevant to kind of what I want to update you on the work that we’re doing. As I shared with you, the profession of chiropractic is broken. Not what you do with your patients. That part’s awesome and getting better every single day. I’m talking about how our profession operates. It’s be been broken for a very long time. There are great things happening like the chiropractic strategic plan, love the work that’s being done there, and the people that are doing that effort. That’s awesome. Long time coming. First time ever that our profession has actually worked together to create a strategic plan, huge fan of the work that they’re doing.

But when we look at the infrastructure and the hierarchy of our profession, it’s kind of we have agencies in, in organizations that have relatively gone unchecked for a very long period of time. And it’s created this slow process of overregulation in the way that we create our chiropractors into the way that our colleges are able to actually administer the education of chiropractic, tying their hands because of fear and, and regulation and title nine garbage and all the things that our government has done over the years to really suck the life out of any real particular movement. Well, we at The Chiropractic Defense Council, we’re not going to sit by and let that happen. We are asking a lot of questions. We’re doing a lot of research. And one of the things this weekend at the event, if you can tell from my shirt, it says drop in.

And it’s an incredible concept. I’d never heard that concept before. And I loved it. And what that essence was is you need to drop in when you’re about ready to administer your adjustment. When you, when you’re standing at the side of that table and your patient is lying there, and you’re about ready to do your thing, you need to consciously drop in, right? And that what that means is be a hundred percent present, not thinking about the, a next patient, not thinking about what you’re doing after work, not thinking about the brain damage you have at home or in any other at facet of your life, but being just right there right now with the patient and that energy transfer that happens when you’re dropped in with that patient is incredible. And that’s exactly what I, what we’re doing for the profession of chiropractic we’re dropping in.

Now, I need you to tell me this because, and I don’t say this as a marketing ploy. I’m not saying this as a negative, but I, I want you to be aware that we now have more people outside of the United States connected to our organization than we do in the United States. But yet the United States has the most accumulation of chiropractors in the world. And I get it it’s because we weren’t on, as on fire in, you know, the United States, as they in other countries, it wasn’t quite as draconian. We had some pockets of that in some states and, and, you know, we were successful at navigating those waters, but I need you to understand the magnitude of what we’re trying to do with one chiropractic, right? When you’re with your patient. And you’re telling them that you want them to be proactive about their health, not weight until they break down and become symptomatic, but to be preventative, right, to be part of your wellness or maintenance program to get adjusted regularly so that their brain and their body are in proper connection.

And they can more appropriately adapt to stress. All of those things are so important when we’re talking to patient management, it is no different with our profession. We need to grow our defense council. We need the numbers so that not only economically, we can do the things that need to be done, but we’re also representing a large number of people when we’re going and fixing these issues. I think most of you, if I was to survey you, you would agree. Most of the students graduating from chiropractic school, do not have the confidence or the skills to jump right into your practice and be an asset to you. Most of you are having to spend a ton of time working on them, to get them to the caliber where you trust them to actually be responsible for the care that they’re providing. I get that that’s not the school’s fault per se.

It’s the structure in which our education model is being administered. So we’re going to look into that. And I know this is true, are we going to irritate some people and create some red flags, but in the United States, it’s time that we start looking at our infrastructure to make sure that we’re actually preparing the future of healthcare as it should be. And chiropractic is gaining a larger foothold of that, but we need more chiropractors. And we need those that we’re graduating to be ready to serve the minute they graduate. And that means some things have to change and our schools need to be held accountable. The CCE needs to be held accountable. The Department of Education needs to be held accountable, and we need to do the work that needs to be done. And I’m unapologetically going to do that work because it’s what’s best for chiropractic. It’s what’s best for our world.

Not because I’m pushing some philosophical agenda. And I know some of you are going to want to put me into that camp and it’s, I’m not going to let you, I’m doing it because the structure is broken and no one’s having that conversation. So we’re going to force that conversation. So we’re dropping in just exactly like Aaron and Patrick taught this weekend. We’re dropping in being a hundred percent present on the work that needs to be done on behalf of chiropractic. What I need from you is I need you to keep dropping into your practice. I need you to be the best chiropractor you can be. And then I need you to help spread the word. There’s never been an organization like our organization, doing the work that we’re doing. And we are partnering with everyone. We are not replacing or challenging any other organization that exists. What we’re doing is the work that needs to be done for our profession to protect and advance chiropractic in an appropriate manner.

And right now we need to do some pretty big work on our foundation, make sure that it’s capable of producing the result that we want. And I’m telling you we’re going to do it. So I need your help. I want your support. I want your prayers. And I want you to spread the word and be our messenger to let people know who we are, what we’re doing and why we’re doing it. So with that, that’s a lot this week. So I want you to know how fired up I am. I think you can tell from my energy, thank you to Aaron and Patrick, and this group, you guys are freaking phenomenal. Love you guys. Thanks for letting me participate in your event this weekend. And man, I’m fired up and ready to go out and love and serve on a higher capacity because I’m dropping in and it’s been an incredible weekend. So I hope you have a phenomenal week this week. Start dropping in yourself. And if you have a chance, here’s a shameless plug. Make sure you check out an event. As a matter of fact, we’re going to be partnering with them in October, they’re coming back to Atlanta and we’re going to do it over Halloween weekend. And we’re going to throw an absolutely amazing Chiropractic Halloween bash. So mark your calendars the last weekend in October OneChiropractic

And The Chiropractic Defense Council are going to be teaming up with Centropy to do a phenomenal technique weekend and then celebrate with each other, have a costume party and really have something to light up. So we’re excited to partner with groups like that. We love you. We appreciate you. Have an incredible week and we’ll talk to you next week. God bless you.
